Groovy Media Player is a straightforward audio player for Windows. It is a good alternative for users who need a simple app to listen to their music files and can live without the plethora of features most modern players contain. What Groovy Media Player has to offer is the essential functionality to playback music in the most common formats.
The application interface is compact, uncluttered, and looks just like old versions of the Windows Media Player. You get the basic player controls to play, stop, jump to next/previous tracks, and also to shuffle and repeat single songs or playlists. An 8-band equalizer is also included. By means of a small button, the application gives you access to the playlist editor, where you can create, edit, save, import playlists in .m3u and .pls. formats, and also order the list of songs according to different criteria. It supports drag and drop, so adding music files is really easy.
From the options window it's possible to adjust some parameters, for example, you can have the application start with Windows or set it to remember the last song or playlist played. It also includes an MP3 to WAV conversion function.
Groovy Media Player is a lightweight player that is stable and works as expected. Besides being free, its big advantage is that its impact on memory use and performance is minimal, what makes it ideal for PCs with limited resources. So if you're looking for a simple music player that can play common media files, such as MP3, WAV, and OGG, this program can be a good choice.
